Steve Large, a photographer based in Nanaimo, is an undiscovered genius for photographing local birds.  His site http://www.larges.ca/ has a wealth of professional quality images for you to gaze at and dream but hopefully also inspire you to take your tripod and camera to head for some of his favourite spots.  If you see him in the field speak to him, he is very friendly and generous about sharing his knowledge.
